The story behind the name...
This portfolio, Figs and Fortune, draws on a sense of nostalgia and reminiscence for what has come before. Figs are a fruit that have appeared throughout history, carrying an age-old sense of familiarity—whether it’s your grandmother who comes to mind with her fig preserves, or the ancient fig trees that have long symbolized abundance, wisdom, and endurance across cultures.
Similarly, Fortune speaks to the accumulation of experience, history, and knowledge passed down through generations. As a portfolio, Figs and Fortune reflects this layered perspective—bringing together past influences, personal growth, and creative work in anticipation of what’s still to come.
About Me.
Hello, my name is Madeleine DeMotte!
